Blue Tiger Silver Series Dash Cam Firmware Update Instructions

Please read these instructions carefully before proceeding with the firmware upgrade.

Important Notes:

  • Ensure that the dash cam is connected to a stable power source during the upgrade process.
  • Do not interrupt the upgrade process once it has started.
  • Use a high-quality, formatted SD card for the firmware upgrade.

Step 1: Download the Firmware

  1. Visit the official Blue Tiger website www.bluetigerusa.com or this link where the firmware is available for download.
  2. Download the latest firmware file for the Silver Series Dash Cam.
  3. Once downloaded, extract the contents of the zip file (if applicable). The extracted file should have a .bin extension.

Step 2: Prepare the SD Card

  1. Insert an SD card (minimum 8GB, Class 10 or higher) into your computer’s SD card reader.
  2. Format the SD card using FAT32 format. (This step will erase all data on the card.)
    • Windows: Right-click the SD card in File Explorer > Select "Format" > Choose "FAT32" > Click "Start."
    • Mac: Open "Disk Utility" > Select the SD card > Click "Erase" > Choose "MS-DOS (FAT)" > Click "Erase."
  3. Once formatted, copy the .bin firmware file to the root directory of the SD card. Ensure the file is not placed inside any folder.

Step 3: Upgrade the Firmware

  1. Safely eject the SD card from your computer.
  2. Insert the SD card into the SD card slot of the Blue Tiger Silver Series Dash Cam.
  3. Power on the dash cam. The firmware upgrade process should start automatically.
    • During the upgrade, the internal lights near the vent holes in the bottom corner will blink red and blue.
    • The lights will blink quickly at first and then slow down as the upgrade nears completion.
  4. Wait for the lights to stop blinking and for the dash cam to start as normal. This indicates the firmware upgrade is complete.
Step 4: Final Steps
  1. After verifying the firmware upgrade, you can format the SD card again to use it for regular recording.
  2. Reconfigure any dash cam settings that may have been reset during the upgrade.
